Gelbooru’s been around since 2007, and its legion of slanty-eyed weeb users continues to grow every day. You’d think with their tiny ass peckers, they’d grow tired of jerking off, but apparently, them zipperheads are just as horny as I am. The site was built off the source code of another famous website that’s since died out, and Gelbooru is now the world leader of hentai bitches.

 

It’s good, but fucking ads make me sick

When you first go to Gelbooru.com, you might get fucking disgusted. Between the full-screen ad raping the entire background and the masturbatory counter of how many images they have as shown by some anime cunts holding up signs, you might wanna turn around and never come back. But once you actually type something into the search bar and click SEARCH, you’ll find something far easier to swallow.

So let’s say you type in “taint”, like I did. Right away, you’ll see a bunch of pics of cartoon bitches’ taints, just like the uploaders had tagged their pictures. That’s right- for every picture you see on Gelbooru, the degenerate loser uploading it made sure to point out that a “taint” was in the goddamn picture. Isn’t that goddamn convenient?

On the left, you’ll see a shitload of “tags”. These are popular tags that were used in other photos. I’m looking at shit like 2girls…alcohol…arm support…”blue kimono”? These Gelbooru freaks make me sick. Anyway, you can enjoy browsing around these random tags if you’re bored or feel the need to get inspired for your session.

 

Who the fuck draws all this shit?

As I said before, all the content is from other users, and there’s a shitload of it. Four million pics, that’ll take me like…at least a month to jerk through! First, the tag system is all about specifically finding what you want. That means that Gelbooru rejects vague ass terms that it considers too basic or too generic. For example, if you search “bitch”, you get to an error site. You search “cunt”, you get an error. You search “slut”; you get an error. As a man who appreciates the basics, this made me pissed off.

But like I said, I get it. Once I successfully jerked off and let my brain start working again, I realized that this is why Gelbooru became popular. It really encourages the uploaders to make good tags, and the system stops retards from clogging up the search with stupid content. You have to get used to using underscores a lot. That’s ___ <- this shit, in your tags. Like you can’t search “Tifa Lockhart”, but you have to use “Tifa_Lockhart”. It can get confusing.

Whatever, if you are a loser who likes jerking off to cartoons all day, I’m sure you have zero life and can learn and master this system. Arigato to you faggots.

There’s also some other weird things which I’ll quickly go over. First, apparently, you need to be a member to do some more complicated tag searches. It’s free to join, though. Second, they have this weird Wiki that is just random as hell. Again, this is some weeb inside-joke community shit that these Gelbooru nerds love to jerk off to even more than pictures of cartoon girls getting fucked by a cartoon starfish. The site also features “pools”, which are groups of really specific picture-types. For example: “Blacked girls - Anime girls who love black cocks”. Finally, it has a link to a Doujin sister site, which is basically hentai comics.

 

What I Like

Well, obviously, there’s a whole lot of content just like on Danbooru. Hentai is cool because you can see characters from cartoons you like. In addition to anime, Gelbooru has characters from American shit too like April O Neil from Ninja Turtles, DC characters like Catwoman, bitches from Marvel comics, etc. Copyright laws? Who gives a damn, these are cartoons for fuck's sake.

Also, for you sick fucks, there’s a shitload of lolicon. For those who don’t know what that is, good, don’t you ever fucking learn. I just felt compelled to mention this because, apparently, it’s a big reason why Gelbooru.com is famous.

 

What I Hate

There’s one thing I hated about this rule 34 site, so let me explain. There’s a lot of ads, yes, but it did this one annoying shit that I fucking hated. One time I opened up a link in a new tab, but in the original tab, it secretly went to a fucking ad! So when I went back to my first tab to check out another pic, ta-da, I get a facial of an annoying full-page animated ad.

Now, when I tried to repeat this to see how it triggers, it didn’t happen, so I’m not sure what the exact code is. Anyway, I just feel like Gelbooru is kind of shady and sneaky with its ads, so I’m warning you now so you don’t get too pissed off as I did.

Also, like I said before, the tag system at Gelbooru.com needs some getting used to. When you use tags incorrectly, you get sent to a bizarre error page talking about some chickens or some shit, and then some message telling you to “check your blacklist”. I didn’t know what the FUCK this shit was talking about, so I ended up having to Google it to figure out what was going on. I still don’t know exactly what the FUCK this is, and no, I ain’t gonna learn. It just wasn’t intuitive.

BUT AGAIN, I get that they have a reason for this shit. Weebs are degenerate sick fucks, but they are smart.

 

Fucking fix that shit!

When you send your users to an error page, clearly explain why the FUCK they were sent there. I know you weebs like to have your secret little circle jerks and shit, saying shit like “Fujiwara from Kitonasabe Ko Intei is the most kawaii~~ senpai!!” and then looking down on a normal person for not understanding what the FUCK you just said. Still, for a website, this attitude ain’t the best. It makes Gelbooru unwelcoming and unintuitive. Fuck you!

Conclusion

In typical weeb fashion, Gelbooru.com (often misspelled as "gelboru", "gelburro", "gelborou, "gelboruu", "gelbooro", "gellbooru", "gelborru", "genbooru" and "gelburoo") is the kind that you can tell is smart and well-designed, but also has a very inclusive nature to it that can make it hard to breakthrough. It’s just like a fucking anime. At first, you just watch it like what the FUCK is this shit, but at some point, it clicks, and then you start getting into it and learning all the weird mumbo-jumbo zipperhead shit that you were calling faggotry five minutes ago. That’s what this fucking site is, and it is the best at it.

The first thing I notice about Hentai Fox does not bode well for their rating. As soon as I attempt to scroll down and get a first impression of the site, I hit a fucking hidden popup ad. On the goddamned scroll bar of all places! This is one of the most annoying things any site can do. I do not like being tricked. I do not like being advertised to. So, when you try to trick me with an advertisement, you have double-crossed me. So fucking obnoxious.

Okay, so I continue, thinking maybe it was just one of those one click and done kind of situations. But, no. The next place I click, the same fucking thing happens. Two new tabs this time. You have got to be fucking kidding me. This time, actually, they have even taken me away from the HentaiFox website on my original tab. What the fuck! Do you even want people to come to your site? Shit like this makes me think you obviously must not. Fuck.

Like I said before, there is a massive amount of content on this site. Almost too much. This site is definitely not for those of us who are not well versed in the world of hentai. As a newbie, I have no fucking clue where to begin. And, what’s more, there does not seem to be much of an organizational structure to the mess of images on the home page. What the fuck am I looking at? How do I figure out what the fuck I am looking at? No answers in sight.

 

I’m Lost in a Foreign Land

As far as design goes, the site is pretty sloppy looking. Images everywhere you look, text in random places, and every spot on the page is crammed with stuff, from corner to corner. It is overwhelming and off-putting, to be honest.

There is, however, one saving grace of navigation in the form of a menu bar at the top of the page. Here you can choose between videos, random, parodies, tags, characters, artists, Nutaku (a game producer), porn lists, harem hentai (another game), and then (you guessed it) more porn games. To the right of all of that is a search bar and a log-in button.

 

Community Engagement?

That is one thing that I like about this site. For a genre of porn that is so community-oriented, you would expect a site dedicated to it would also be equally community-oriented, right? As a registered user (it’s free, don’t worry), you can add images and videos to your “fap list,” and they track things you have viewed with a convenient backlist. This helps stave off the poor organization of the site in general, a little bit. But, still, as an unregistered guest, I should still be able to easily navigate your website.

In addition to the ability to track and rate your favorite galleries and videos, Hentai Fox also grants you the ability to partake in conversations with other Hentai lovers from around the world. Although you have to look for it. At the very bottom of the page, in the fine print, right next to “Home” and “Contact,” you will find a button labeled “forum.” Click this and find a message board. Although the forum seems more as a means to interact with the people who run the site (bug reporting, suggestions and feedback, and news and announcements), there is also a general discussion thread.

However, this section is hardly used at all. With a total of 12 posts here, it does not appear as if the community is particularly active, at least not when it comes to conversing with one another. I mean, to be fair, this is probably because Hentai Fox makes it extremely difficult to find (as if anything is easy to find in their jumbled mess of pictures and videos).

The comments sections on the images and videos themselves, though, do look to be a little more active. And, also to the site’s credit, at least every pic and video I clicked into includes all relevant information (artist, title, tags, languages, categories) and it is all archived and clickable. You also have a download option, a favorite option, and an option to log whether or not you fapped to it (which seems kind of weird to me for some reason).

 

Warning: Experts Only

This is definitely a hentai manga niche site and seems as if it is exclusively for the biggest hentai fans out there. If you are someone who knows little to nothing about hentai (or what makes some hentai better than others) like me, you will probably feel rather lost at sea upon visiting Hentai Fox. And it seems like it could take quite some time to learn the lay of the land and sift through the mess of everything on this site.

All in all, not digging the misleading and deceptive hidden ads. For an expert hentai enthusiast, this might be just what you are looking for—a massive database of full issues of hentai stories and episodes of hentai videos; you will likely know way better how to sift through this seemingly disorganized mess of random thumbnails. So, I am going to leave it up to you guys to figure it out for yourselves. I have a feeling a hardcore hentai lover might appreciate this site. So, why not give it a go and see for yourself! It’s not confusing, and you can definitely navigate with one hand, which is always a bonus. I didn’t see the option for a good while, but up in the left-hand corner, there’s a small button you can press that lets you create an account. There are some major issues with this fine site.

 

 

First, there is no rating system on the site. You won't find things like favorites or ratings, so you can't easily find the porn that other people voted as great.

If you are only interested in 3D or Rule 34 porn though, this shouldn't bother you that much.

 

Another issue I had was the lack of list view. List view is where all the pages of the hentai comic are laid out on one site, so you can read everything in one go.

I don't know why Myhentaigallery doesn't offer list view. I doubt the current layout really adds that much to their cash flow. But either way, they don't have it.

 

They also don't provide download links for the comics. Doujin and comic sites usually provide zip or PDF downloads so you can quickly down last an entire comic for safe keeping, so it sucks they don't have it here. You are able to at least download each page individually by right clicking and having the image file.

Myhentaigallery looks really promising, but it’s still really rough around the edges. I can tell the site is still under heavy construction. Sometimes the gallery thumbnails will have weird dimensions for example.

What I hate

My main issue with Simply-Hentai is that it is misleading about its game section. It’s obvious that the site just serves as a portal to check out these hentai games, and Simply-Hentai probably gets a cut of profits or something for taking people there. There are no games on Simply-Hentai, and that stops it from being the ultimate one-stop-shop.

I also don’t like that there’s no “list view” option for the comics. List view is where all the images are laid out on one page, so you can read the entire comic without having to click “Next” over and over to get to the next image. Once you get used to this, it’s hard to tolerate reading comics one page at a time.

Simply-Hentai can also have some slow load times on some of the pages, making this issue more of a problem. So not only am I forced to read only one page a time, but the next page can also be slow to load if the images are high-quality. This is annoying.

A final nitpick is that I didn’t find HD content in the video section. Some of the videos are censored as well, and you won’t know until you actually get to the sex scene. You might want to do your research before loading up the video.

 

Suggestions

I guess I forgive Simply-Hentai for hosting zero games, because the manga and video sections are so great. But if they are trying to advertise 3rd party games, then they could do a better job. Perhaps add descriptions, or reviews, for the games that they link to help me decide.

Right now, you just get a pulldown list of the games, but all you see is the game names. When you click on the game, you immediately get thrown to that game’s website, so who the fuck knows whether the game is any good or not? I think viewers would just get annoyed and close it right away.

Along the top of the site is a search bar. You can adjust all kinds of advanced settings, including page count range, included or excluded tags, and search tags. This is a super flexible search engine that puts most other porn places to shame.

Below the search bar, you’ll find the main categorization buttons. You can organize the main gallery by newest (default), popular right now, most fapped, most viewed, or alphabetical order. The “Most Fapped” category is just a most favorited ranking, so don’t think it’s anything crazy.

What I Hate

9Hentai is close to being a perfect doujin site, at least in my eyes. Everything looks modern, there are no broken links, and the site features direct download links that don’t have you jumping through any file host hoops.

However, there is no list view. For those you don’t know, a list view is when all the comic pages are laid out on one page like a list, so you can just go down and read the entire comic without clicking page by page.
